For foster children in California, each day presents new challenges. Many children are placed in care suddenly and must leave home with only the clothes on their backs. Others are relocated several times and must struggle to catch up in a new school. Foster families face the challenge of quickly replenishing all essential items, such as warm winter clothing, school supplies and shoes to fit growing feet.
That’s why Sleep Train founded the Sleep Train Foster Kids program. With community support and the help of non-profit foster child organizations, we can make a positive impact on the lives of foster children in California. Our support helps ensure that foster children have access to the essential items and little extras they need to thrive.
While the focus of our collection drives changes throughout the year, the Sleep Train Foster Kids program gladly continue to accept in-kind donations after a drive has ended.
In California there are more than 60,000 children living in foster care. You can help make their holidays brighter this year by hosting your own Sleep Train Foster Kids Toy Drive. It’s an easy way to give back to your community while leaving the heavy lifting of planning and promotion to us!
Sleep Train’s School Drive has collected over 167,000 items!
Our 2014 School Supply Drive brought in over 167,000 school supply items for foster children in need! Thank you to everyone who donated and to those who hosted their own drives!
Not everyone can be a foster parent, but anyone can help a foster child.™
