For foster children in California, each day presents new challenges. Many children are placed in care suddenly and must leave home with only the clothes on their backs. Others are relocated several times and must struggle to catch up in a new school. Foster families face the challenge of quickly replenishing all essential items, such as warm winter clothing, school supplies and shoes to fit growing feet.
That’s why Sleep Train founded the Sleep Train Foster Kids program. With community support and the help of non-profit foster child organizations, we can make a positive impact on the lives of foster children in California. Our support helps ensure that foster children have access to the essential items and little extras they need to thrive.
While the focus of our collection drives changes throughout the year, the Sleep Train Foster Kids program gladly continue to accept in-kind donations after a drive has ended.
One of the most hands-on ways to get involved and support the current or upcoming donation drive is to host your own donation drive for foster kids. We will provide printable poster art and templates for emails and social media posts to help spread the word about the current or upcoming drive.
Sleep Train’s Clothing Drive collected over 18,500 items!
Our 2014 Clothing Drive brought in over 18,500 clothing items. Thank you to everyone who donated and to those who hosted their own clothing drives.
Not everyone can be a foster parent, but anyone can help a foster child.™
